Jesus: "the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost"
Luke 19:10

Around 25-30 of us usually gather on a Sunday, drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds. But the members of the church are united, both in the experience of God’s great love and mercy, as well as in the conviction that the Lord Jesus Christ and his word, the Bible, need to be central in our thinking and living. Read how some of us encountered God here.

There are all kinds of people in the church! Parents, children, retired people, singles. No matter what your experience of life, you will be welcome among us.

Elders
Patrick Buckley

Patrick was born in Kuwait and from earliest memories saw the commitment of missionaries to the work of preaching and witnessing to Christ. His family returned to England, and he came to personal faith in Christ at Redruth Baptist Church in January 1968. He has proved the faithfulness of God as a dustman, tin miner, teacher and Baptist minister. With 4 grown-up children, he is married to Priscilla, who, he says, has put up with him with remarkable grace and patience for 43 years!

Nick Fuller (pastor)

Nick grew up in Truro, but left for further studies and ended up in post-doctoral research as a marine microbiologist, travelling the world looking for the invisible! He was saved by Jesus at uni, and eventually left science and became the pastor of a church in Yorkshire, for 8 years. Nick returned to his roots early in 2015, with his wife Sarah and young daughter, to pastor this church. He loves the outdoors, including hiking, cycling and beach construction projects!

Priscilla Buckley

Priscilla grew up in Bristol in a Christian home (her father was a full-time Bible teacher), but came to personal faith in Jesus as a young teenager. She trained as a teacher in Cheltenham, where she met Patrick. They married in 1975 and were blessed with 4 children and later 12 grandchildren. Priscilla taught Special Needs children and enjoyed playing the guitar both in schools and church.

Robin Griffiths

Robin grew up on the Isle of Wight, and still hasn't fully recovered! He married Rosemary and became a missionary in Thailand for many years. He retired to Truro in 2017, to be near one of his 3 children. With a history in IT, Robin loves all things technological.

Chris Rotheray

Chris grew up in Falmouth, before leaving to study medicine. Just before she left home, God saved her. Chris later became a doctor at Treliske hospital, where she remained for many years, until retirement. Chris now has 4 children, and 6 grandchildren, who keep her from idleness! Chris also coordinates the local Christian Medical Fellowship.

Paul Sebuava

Paul grew up in Ghana, and came to personal faith in Jesus Christ at high school in 1998, following several years of living with many false religious hopes. He moved to the UK for study in 2006, became a pharmacist and now works at Treliske hospital. Paul enjoys the sights and sounds of the countryside as well as listening to classical music. He is married to his Ghanaian wife Mercy, and together they console each other in the British weather!

Our History

During 1998, a group of Christians from all around Truro began to come together, first for prayer, and then to meet on Sundays. This led to the forming of Truro Evangelical Church. Our first minister, John Rosser, passed the leadership on to Peter Ninnis in October, 2002. Following Peter's retirement, Nick Fuller became minister in March 2015 and continues to guide the church since then. For over 24 years we met in the main hall of Tregolls School, but then moved to Trelander and St Clement Community Hall in 2023, from which we pray we shall be a blessing to the local community.
