BackgroundWe have been meeting together as a church in Tregolls School, a primary school in Truro, since January 1999. Our members are drawn from many backgrounds (Methodist, Brethren, Baptist, Church of England, FIEC, House Church). We come from many walks of life, and yet in our diversity we share a love for the Lord Jesus and a desire to live obediently to Him by studying and applying God's Word (The Bible), keeping His sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion) and keeping in step with the Holy Spirit. We are a conservative, evangelical church which hopes to develop a contemporary edge to corporate praise and to engage with the culture around us as we share the good news about Jesus' death for us on the cross of Calvary. We use the "Praise!" hymn book and hold regular midweek meetings in member's homes. We have run several "Christianity Explored" courses as a means of helping people discover our wonderful Saviour. The church affiliated to the FIEC (Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches) in June 1999. Pastor & EldersThe church owes a debt of thanks to Rev John Rosser, one of the founding members and the main strategist in bringing the church together. John was the Pastor of the church until March 2002 when he announced his successor Rev Peter Ninnis. Peter started his ministry here in October 2002. Our elders are presently Rev Peter Ninnis and Mark Vanstone. Mark is a Cornishman and a local secondary school teacher. Mid-week meetingsWe presently have one mid-week meeting which our members attend to study God's Word, to pray and to have fellowship. Once a month, the meeting is used used exclusively for prayer. We meet on Tuesdays at 7:30 pm. Email us if you would like more details. |
